Certain employees who joined First Bus, FirstGroup Holdings or First Rail after 5 April 2012, or who were building a defined benefit in the First UK Bus Pension Scheme or the FirstGroup Pension Scheme when those schemes closed to accrual will have been enrolled into the Enhanced Lifetime Savings Plan (ELSP). If you are a new employee and receive an invitation to the ELSP, you will be automatically enrolled into this plan from the first date of your next full pay period after joining the company. You will receive information on your enrolment from HR soon after you join the company. If you would like more information, please email pensions@firstbus.co.uk.
The ELSP is a Mastertrust provided by Legal and General. More information can be found by visiting https://www.legalandgeneral.com. This link will show you how to make changes and allow you to access 'Manage your account'.
The amount that the Company will contribute to your fund will depend on how much you choose to save. Please email pensions@firstbus.co.uk for further details and to change the amount you save.
If you are a member of the ELSP and die while still employed by FirstGroup, your nominated dependants would be eligible to receive a lump sum payment, or four times base salary, and the savings pot you have built up. To make sure these death benefits are paid in line with your wishes please make sure you complete and return an expression of wish form which you will have received when you join the company. Email pensions@firstbus.co.uk for further details and to obtain a new expression of wish form if required.
