Death in Service Benefit
Employees of FirstGroup may receive Death in Service cover. A Death in Service policy will typically pay out a lump sum in the event of your death to your chosen beneficiaries. To choose who you would like to receive the lump sum, an EoW form needs to be completed.
In the event of your death, the EoW form will be considered when a lump sum payment needs to be made. An EoW form can also be used to determine who you would like to receive your pension savings. That’s why it is very important to make sure your EoW form is kept up to date.
Whilst an EoW form isn’t a legally binding document, it will provide guidance to the trustees who your lump sum and/or pension savings should be paid to.
